Deeper Meaning—The Revelation

Intrinsic Significance—The Accomplishments of Christ’s Resurrection

On the third day after His death, Christ resurrected. Three crucial, wonderful things were accomplished through His resurrection.

  • The Firstborn Son of God
  • Christ’s resurrection from among the dead after His crucifixion designated (uplifted) His human nature into the divine sonship, producing Him to be the firstborn Son of God according to His humanity (Romans 1:4; 8:29; Acts 13:33).

  • The Life-Giving Spirit
  • In Christ’s resurrection He, the last Adam, became the life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45b).

  • The Many Sons of God and the Many Brothers of Christ
  • Christ’s resurrection regenerated all the people chosen by God, making them the children (sons) of God and Christ’s many brothers (1 Peter 1:3; John 1:12; 20:17; Romans 8:29). (Witness Lee, Triune, 63-64)
